Q: If the reviews on Farm Cottage are so good, why has Farm Cottage not got any ‘Star’ ratings?

 

A: The answer is in the question, but the full explanation is a little lengthy.

Farm Cottage B&B opened in December 2008 to offer clean, comfortable accommodation with a high level of hospitality and good quality food, that is well prepared and cooked, giving an overall service at an affordable price to the traveller. (Over 90% of our 700 visitors to date (early September 2009) have been travelling to or from the Port in Harwich)

 

To gain a star rating from associations like the AA, RAC and ‘About Britain’ the hotelier has to join the association and become a member – this costs on average around £150 per association joined. Like any business all costs have to be recovered, the end result is that you the visitor would have to cover these costs in increased room charges.

 

To be quite blunt about it, there is only one person’s opinion about the service we supply that I care about, YOU the visitor. We note all comments left by visitors on the Report Forms and act of them immediately wherever possible. As we are personally new to the business the feedback left by our clients has been invaluable.

 

Visitors who stayed with us back in early 2009 would instantly recognise the many changes and additions we have made to all the rooms since then. Such as: Guest towels & toiletries, Tea & Coffee facilities, additional seating, Television and DVD players. And all guest rooms have just been completely redecorated and updated ready for 2010

Q: Is it correct that you will collect me from the port or railway station upon arrival and deliver me back to the port or railway station upon departure FREE OF CHARGE?

 

A: Yes totally free of charge – Each guest may have one free collection and one free delivery to and from Farm Cottage. Due to the high level of additional business we bring to our contracted taxi company we get a special discount which we can afford to absorb within our room charges.

 

Q: Are your reviews genuine?

 

A: Yes totally 100% all our reviews are kept in a fold on the breakfast counter and may be ready by any of our visitors.

 

Q: What are your book in and check out times?

A: Guests are welcome to arrive any time between 18.00 & 24:00Hrs - Check out is by 10.00am (With the exception of guests being delivered to the cruise terminal)
